THE TALKING TREES
As I take my hikes through the woods, I can’t help but notice the towering trees surrounding me. They seem to stretch towards the sky, reaching out to one another as if they’re all part of some grand plan. The painting that caught my eye perfectly captures the beauty of nature’s play of colors and contrasts. In the same way that the colors blend together seamlessly, the trees seem to be effortlessly connecting in one point perspective. It’s a truly magical sight to behold. As I stand there, I can almost hear the trees calling out to one another, beckoning for them to come closer. It’s almost as though they have a language of their own. In this moment, I feel a deep connection to nature and its undeniable power.

JAPANESE BAMBOO GARDEN

Have you ever stood amidst a dense forest of Japanese bamboo trees and witnessed the magical play of light and shadow on your face as the sun tries to find its way through the dense foliage? HALF DOME,
Yosemite National Park, California
Last October, I hiked Half Dome, which is considered one of the most dangerous hikes in America. I never imagined what hiking the Dome meant until I completed it. We had some prior training to build our endurance and prepare for the hike. But it wasn’t until I saw what I was going to conquer the next day that I realized the magnitude of it.
The Half Dome hike is considered a very hard hike, not because of the altitude but of the non-guarded 400-foot granite terrain at Subdome and the single pair of cables for Half Dome. We started our hike around 3:30 and reached Subdome in 7 hours. Only after we reached the base of Half Dome did we realize the magnitude of 400 feet of stone climbing with a pair of cables and our upper body strength. Midway through the climb, my feet started giving up, but I gathered all my courage to cover the remaining 200 feet. The thrill down my spine, when I reached the dome, was something I can never explain.
This painting was made the night before when we needed to rest our minds and body for the hike the next morning.

TULIPS GALORE
As a kid I always imagined living in the most colorful place, and this painting is from that imagination. What is more colorful than a Tulip farm in a Dutch land? I can imagine kids, adults, birds and animals all running through these farms and breathing in the colors.
As a child, I used to imagine living in the most colorful place in the world, and this painting perfectly captures that imagination. The painting portrays a vast tulip farm in the Netherlands, with rows upon rows of tulips in every imaginable color. From bright reds to deep purples, and from sunny yellows to soft pinks, the colors of the tulips are simply breathtaking.
Looking at this painting, I can picture children running through the fields, playing hide-and-seek among the tall flowers. Grown-ups can also be seen strolling through the farm, admiring the beauty of the flowers and taking in the fresh air. The birds are chirping and flitting about, while rabbits and other small animals are peeking out from behind the tulip stems.
In essence, this painting is a perfect representation of a world that is full of life, color, and joy. It is a world that captures the essence of childhood, where everything is possible, and imagination knows no bounds.

NORRIS BASIN GEYSER
Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming
I will never forget the happiness I felt when I saw the Norris Basin Geyser at Yellowstone National Park, for the first time. It was like watching a child observing a steam engine train, where the pressure is bursting out of the front with a similar sound. From a distance, no one could tell that the temperature beneath the surface was more than 450F. The way the pressure within the surface was released was unbelievable. This painting is a memoir of that moment and that site. If luck permits, I will surely visit it again.

GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE,
San Francisco, California
I have been a resident of the San Francisco Bay Area for almost a decade now! Every time I visit the part of the city where the Golden Gate Bridge stands tall and defines the skyline and boundaries, I am filled with awe. Every time I drive on the bridge, I feel like admiring this engineering marvel for hours, witnessing its beauty. Since it’s situated on the Bay, to find a clear blue sky is a hit or miss, especially for those who are traveling. However, this image was captured on one such clear day when not only the bridge, but also the hills in the background, were clearly visible, contrasting the Golden Gate’s red with nature’s green.

Urban Fields
Amidst the chaos of the COVID-19 pandemic, I discovered a serene escape through outdoor exercise. The crown jewel of my neighbourhood was a picturesque creek that I encountered on my daily walks. As I approached, I marveled at the stunning contrast between the natural beauty of the marsh and grassland, and the bustling urban landscape just beyond the creek’s walls. Towering electric poles loomed overhead, a stark reminder of the hustle and bustle of modern life. I was grateful for the opportunity to disconnect from the world and immerse myself in the tranquility of nature. This stunning painting transports me back to those days of complete seclusion and an effortless connection with the natural world.

THE DOOR FRONT
This is one of my first experiments with watercolors, where I experimented with painting doors and facades of European streets. I was inspired by the amazing doors in the front facades of European buildings and thought it would be a great start to bring them onto paper.

DRIVE TO YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK
I live about four hours away from Yosemite National Park and have visited the park at least once every year. The roads that lead to the park offer the most beautiful views, and although I have driven them at least a dozen times in the past decade, they never fail to spark my curiosity at every turn. Furthermore, it’s a perfect example of the geometry of nature, where everything seems to converge somewhere, be it the roads or trees. This painting brings out the feeling of those turns while depicting single point perspective in the same frame.

MAHARAJA THALI – A RAJATHANI CUISINE
Artesia, Los Angelos
Did your mouth water by just seeing this painting? Then imagine how it felt while being served. Our family is big-time foodie, especially Indian cuisine. It was during our Christmas holidays when we visited Los Angelos and were craving some authentic spicy Indian food. Artesia, a small town in LA is known for variety of Indian restaurants, largest variety after Oak Tree road in New Jersey. We checked some restaurant and then accidentally came across this restaurant called Bhooke (hungry). There was a long line, which was a review in itself. We decided to try this place. And to our surprise, not only the food but also the presentation was mouth watering. Savoring every bit of the thali, we left satiated with lingering taste in our mouth.
